Word Power Wednesday – Animalines

As kids, my brothers, sister and I were always trying to crack each other up. The “holy grail” was achieving a FENOIS (pronounced fen wah) or Forceful Ejection, Nasal, Of Ingested Substances, usually milk or orange juice.

Back in the dark ages before e-mail, I would send Sister a birthday card by snail mail every year. Instead of just writing some corny greeting and signing it, I tried to come up with something original and amusing to put on the card, hoping that she would be drinking something while opening her mail.

We were both huge fans of David Letterman’s show at the time (I still am) so I would do a custom Top 10 list for several years. One of them was a list of phobias; there are so many, I’ll just refer you to this list if you are interested. Then I went totally out to the far reaches of left field with a list of words containing -ine suffixes and denoting a type of animal. So without any further ado…
